Arthur's Seat Point

The Queen of Points

Why It's the Queen of Points

Arthur's Seat Point is arguably the most famous viewpoint in Mahabaleshwar. It is named after Sir Arthur Mallet, who used to sit here and stare into the Savitri valley, longing for his wife and children who drowned in the Savitri river below.

The viewpoint is unique because it clearly distinguishes the geological contrast between the Konkan coast and the Deccan plateau. The fascinating stratified laterite rocks and the dramatic 1,470m drop into the valley make it a mesmerizing sight.

Arthur's Seat is part of our standard Mahabaleshwar Darshan (Tour 1), starting at just ₹1,200. The full walking circuit covers 6 scenic viewpoints along the cliff.

Echo Point

Located just before Arthur's Seat, this point reverberates your voice across the valley. It's a favorite among kids and adults alike.

Tiger Spring

A small natural spring of pure water situated a short walk down from the main point. Legend says tigers used to come here to drink.

Window Point

Named for the unique window-like rock formation that offers a framed view of the valley below. Great for photography.
